The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) adopted the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) program to address the energy, economic, and environmental objectives of New York State by entering the market for the environmental attributes created by diverse, environmentally responsible energy technologies.

Wind Integration Study Report Available
NYSERDA and the New York Independent System Operator (“NYISO”) commissioned a two-phased study of the potential effects of additional intermittent generation on the operation and reliability of the New York bulk power system (“Study”). The scope of this Study was developed jointly by NYSERDA and the NYISO.
The Study deliverables consist of two reports. The first, “Preliminary Overall Reliability Assessment” was published on February 4, 2004 and is available on the NYS Public Service Commission’s RPS web page, www.dps.state.ny.us.
The Final Report "The Effects of Integrating Wind Power on Transmission System Planning, Reliability, and Operations" was published on March 4, 2005 and is now available. (Report) (Appendices)
The Draft Final Report was presented to the public on February 10, 2005, and comments were accepted for consideration by NYSERDA and the NYISO through the close of business on Friday, February 18, 2005. (View comments) |
