Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Program
The New York Energy $mart SM Unitary HVAC program is designed to increase the availability, promotion, sale and long-term performance of energy efficient commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) products and services. Studies show that HVAC system efficiency can be increased by up to 50% through proper equipment selection, installation, and service. NYSERDA promotes the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) Tier 2 energy efficiency specification for commercial HVAC units, these efficiency levels are approximately 22% higher than the current federal minimum standards.
