Who is Eligible
Industrial and commercial facilities, State and local governments, not-for-profit and private institutions, public and private K-12 schools, colleges and universities, multifamily buildings greater than five units, and health care facilities. NYSERDA is particularly interested in working with New York State electric distribution system customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp., Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., New York State Electric & Gas Corp., Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., or Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation.
What This Program Offers
NYSERDA will cost share up to $50,000 of the cost of selected Technical Assistance Studies performed by an independent Service Provider to study the feasibility of implementing combined heat & power and renewable generation at an eligible facility. For electrical customers of Consolidated Edison Company of New York Inc., NYSERDA will cost-share up to $100,000 on selected studies.
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Systems that simultaneously provide thermal and electrical and/or mechanical energy at a host site. The system should intend to meet the requirement for efficient CHP, defined by the U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association as "applications of technologies that achieve an average, annual, fuel-conversion efficiency meeting or exceeding an efficiency of 60%."
Renewable Generation Systems that generate electricity from the following renewable energy sources:
- Solar
- Anaerobic digester gas (ADG)
- Biomass
- Land fill gas (LFG)
- Hydropower
- Wind
In addition, the renewable generation systems should intend to meet the eligibility requirements of New York State Renewable Portfolio Standard (PSC Case 03-E-0188).
