Course Overview

With so many options on the market today, selecting the most efficient and appropriate lamps, ballasts, lenses, fixtures, and controls can be an overwhelming task. To make the best choices, it is important to understand how electric light is described and measured as well as how electric light sources can be controlled to balance cost effectiveness, aesthetics, and efficiency.

This course provides an overview of lighting sources, luminaries, and controls that can create cost-effective, efficient and pleasing lighting in school buildings and grounds. The course is worth one hour of continuing education credit in the area of Health, Safety, Welfare.
