In an attempt to reduce energy use in institutions of higher education, the following agencies offer energy-efficiency incentives. Available programs support in the research, development, and implementation of energy-efficient products and strategies. Financial assistance is available for qualified improvements.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

New York Power Authority (NYPA)

Incentives and Rebates for Installation of Energy Efficiency Measures

provide quick, easy, and free customized cost-savings recommendations

provides financial incentives to developers to install qualified energy-efficient equipment in buildings under construction or renovation

Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) 
Construction
- All-green only-green policy
applies to all DASNY construction projects. New additions or significant renovations must register in a LEED system, set goals, and document progress. All other projects must set specific sustainable goals (without third party review process).
Public Finance
- Tax-Exempt Equipment Leasing Program (TELP)
provides financing for the leasing of various types of equipment, including energy-efficiency equipment, ranging from computer or phone systems to major health diagnostic equipment - Power of Two Partnership
